"ALLA TINTOU KAFO"
The work carried out with the women of the village of Kégnéto, as part of the creation of an Economic Interest Group (GIE), is part of an initiative to support and strengthen their economic and social activities. During the meeting held on October 11, 2023, in Kégnéto/Bounkiling, the Wassor team explained its commitment to assisting these women, mainly in the areas of agriculture, local product processing, and the marketing of processed products. We also offered support to improve their psychological and physical well-being. These women, the vast majority of whom are married and mothers, are involved in agricultural and commercial activities. They already gather regularly for savings activities in the form of a tontine. At the end of the meeting, they formed their GIE under the name "ALLA TINTOU KAFO," meaning "Group of Grace," and elected a board composed of several key members. The necessary administrative steps for creating the GIE, including the costs of criminal records, fiscal stamps, and other fees, were settled, and the documents were submitted to Senegal Services in Bounkiling. Wassor will continue to support them by seeking partnerships for funding and training that can enhance their capacities and ensure the success of their GIE. It should be noted that the GIE is independent of Wassor, which remains a partner.
